8 Wrestlers Who Have VANISHED From AEW (... And WHY!)
6. Jay White
The return of Switchblade Jay White remains one of the most eagerly awaited comebacks across the pro wrestling world. The leader of the Bang Bang Gang is an all-rounder whose enormous potential in AEW remains untapped at the main event level.
Rumours were swirling that he was due to have a lengthy run in the 2025 Owen Hart tournament before injury struck him down. It was swiftly confirmed that he suffered a severe hand injury, suffered in a match with Kevin Knight on Collision. It was then confirmed in July by Fightful that this hand injury was expected to keep him sidelined for the rest of the year. He also opted to undergo shoulder surgery during this time to build towards a complete return to full fitness.
White has been shown on-screen in 2026, as he appeared at NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom on January 4th. The former Bullet Club leader was in attendance to honour Hiroshi Tanahashi's retirement match against Kazuchika Okada, with excitement naturally building for his big AEW return. There is still no timeline for White's return, as we are just weeks away from him being away for a full calendar year.
