8 Career-Ending WWE Disasters

4. Adam Rose

South African wrestler Raymond Leppan had spent his early years in NXT and FCW polishing the character of Leo Kruger. It was unfortunate that he found himself in the same era as Bray Wyatt's backwater cult leader persona, because Kruger was a menacing figure in his own right. Playing the role of a vicious killer that owed a debt to Spider-Man villain Kraven The Hunter and 90s WWE superstar Skinner, Kruger concentrated on mean, psychological warfare to stalk his pray.

This is worth repeating because, out of nowhere, Kruger was asked to play the role of Adam Rose for a short stint in NXT before being called up to the main roster. Rose's concept couldn't be more different to Kruger, as he was now a party liaison with a bus full of fans in fancy dress called The Exotic Express, a giant bunny as a sidekick, a lollipop, and an Austin Powers-esque persona.

When fans refused to get on board with Rose's "fun bus", despite Michael Cole's painfully over-the-top attempts to make audiences warm to him, this gimmick felt dead on arrival. There was no turning back to the venomous Kruger from here, and Rose was let go after two painful years playing this woeful character.
