8 WWE Commentators Vince McMahon Soured On

1. Matt Striker

There is something to be said for being extremely knowledge about the WWE product as well as passionate, but Matt Striker's overbearing personality sometimes led him to becoming a bit of a nuisance behind the booth.

Interestingly enough, that was exactly why Vince McMahon was so high on him for a few years. Striker traded in his wrestling boots for a headset in late 2008 and quickly flourished in the role on the ECW brand. It was when he arrived on SmackDown in 2009 that he became almost unbearable to listen to, but at least his fun facts about the industry were always a treat.

His time on the blue brand came to a screeching halt when he used some wrestling lingo while calling the 2011 Royal Rumble match ("This is a mark out moment! I'm marking out, bro!"), which is obviously a big no-no. He spent his remaining two years in WWE as a host for NXT and backstage interviewer, receiving his release in June 2013.

It's unknown as to whether McMahon ever saw him as the future of WWE commentary, but as a result of that Rumble incident, we'll never known what he would have amounted to there.
