8 WWE Factions You Totally Forgot Existed

7. The Brood

It's not likely that anyone will soon forget about Edge, the "Ultimate Opportunist" WWE Hall of Famer who held the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships a combined 11 times, among other accolades. Nor are people likely to forget about Christian, who together won the World Tag Team titles seven times, and still appears on WWE television to this day with his "Peep Show" segments. Heck, they even celebrated Smackdown's anniversary a few weeks ago in a special broadcast on the WWE Network, so they should still be fresh in everyone's mind. Less fresh, however, would be the faction they were once a part of during the Attitude Era: The Brood. Together with the vampiric Gangrel, the gothic trio... actually didn't accomplish much of note. Christian's debut match earned him the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship, but in its all-but-forgotten-even-while-active state, that's not saying much. The three also joined a larger faction, the more memorable Ministry of Darkness led by The Undertaker, but basically existed as flunkies who soon received the boot anyway. If The Brood is remembered for anything, it would be their entrance, rising up through a circle of fire on the entrance stage, shrouded in red light. But even then, that was really more Gangrel's thing- he used it before and after Edge and Christian came and left the group- and it didn't exactly do him any great favors, as he remained a midcarder through his otherwise unremarkable WWE tenure before leaving the company in 2001. It may be worth noting that after Gangrel did form "The New Brood" after ditching Edge and Christian, but his new teammates- The Hardy Boyz- didn't stick around for long before instead deciding to sign on with Terri Runnels, making the newer iteration of the group even less memorable than the first.
