8 WWE NXT TakeOver: WarGames 2020 Impulse Reactions

6. Finn Bálor

Finn Bálor insisted that "all eyes will go back on The Prince" ahead of presumably something resembling a proper return to the black-and-gold brand for the NXT Champion.

The messaging here was short and succinct, but suitable. Enjoy the show, enjoy the teams, but remember the primary reason everybody's there in the first place - to win the belt he's got.

Something like this was desperately needed from Bálor. His return to television was deployed brilliantly as a way to put over the incredible brutality of Rhea Ripley's loss to Io Shirai and the Undisputed Era's return to the Capitol Wrestling Center, but not to reinstall any agency in the man permitted to hold on to the NXT Championship long past the typically-mandated 30 day rule.

Karrion Kross has a right to be p*ssed off and they'll be good to one day service that story beat, but this felt as much a call out to whomever stood out most in the main event. But more on that later...
