8 WWE Storylines That Must Happen Before 2017
4. The Man Vs. The Game
Seth Rollins' devastating knee injury in October 2015 not only robbed him of a spot on the WrestleMania 32 card, it also put an end to speculation that The Architect would battle The Authority's Triple H in one of that show's marquee matches.
Now back in action, Rollins was the No. 1 overall draft pick of Stephanie McMahon's Raw. In Rollins, Stephanie sees an ally, a Superstar with whom she has history and more importantly, a former champion both her and her husband have successfully manipulated.
What if Rollins, newly rebuilt, redesigned and ready to reclaim, is not so willing to be influenced by his bosses? Now his own man after having beaten Roman Reigns for the WWE Championship back at Money in the Bank without the assistance of The Authority, what if he finds himself butting heads with Stephanie and Triple H?
The Rollins-Triple H program may not have unfolded in the weeks leading into WrestleMania but with Survivor Series in November, WWE Creative has the opportunity to deliver a legitimate main event match that puts Undertaker's return to tag team action at last year's event to shame.
Rollins vs. Triple H is the one loose end from The Architect's initial championship reign that has yet to be tied up. The sooner that inevitable confrontation occurs, the sooner Rollins can move on and evolve into his next incarnation.
