8 WWE Superstars Who Are Miscast In Their Current Roles

These characters just aren't clicking.

Most WWE superstars make the most of whatever gimmick they're given, even if it is doomed to flop from the start. It also isn't uncommon for certain stars to be positioned as a babyface or a heel when the individual is clearly more comfortable in the opposite role.

Braun Strowman is a prime example of someone who was booked perfectly as a monster heel yet was in desperate need of a babyface turn when he gradually got over with the audience.

Unfortunately, there are a handful of others on both the Raw and SmackDown Live rosters at the moment who could benefit from a change in character just as much. WWE might be experimenting with something new that just isn't working, or worse yet, they aren't listening to their fans and fail to realize when it's time to switch it up with those wrestlers.

Either way, the bottom line is that these superstars are suffering as a result of the company's questionable decisions, and would really shine if they weren't so miscast in their current characters.

8. Rusev

Rusev was your typical foreign heel when he was called up to the main roster in April 2014, playing the part to perfection as he ran through the roster in the remainder of the year. It wasn't until the following year, however, that he started to incorporate some personality into his promos and it quickly became evident that he was actually hilarious.

It made sense to keep him a heel while he was with Lana, given she was desired to inspire jealousy in a certain part of the audience. The two went their separate ways upon moving over to SmackDown Live in the Superstar Shake-up, raising the question why we're supposed to hate him now when in reality he would make for an amazing babyface.

Rusev's social media and various WWE.com interviews are enough evidence that he is totally likable and has plenty to offer in a comedic role. Anything would be better than having him engage in pointless programs with John Cena and Randy Orton.

A double turn with him and Tye Dillinger was rumored after a recent live event match they had, so maybe a face stint for the Bulgarian brute isn't far off.
