8 WWE Superstars Whose Social Media Activity Backfired

7. Lacey Evans' Canadian Cop Clash

It's absolutely nuts to see how much backlash Lacey Evans got for her social media activity earlier this year. During a WWE event up in Canada, Evans posted a video of her lambasting a lawman, throwing some shade on Canada, and genuinely being a snobby, snooty heel.

Sadly, the response to this video was that some wrestling fans took umbrage in a major way with the disrespectful antics of The Sassy Southern Belle.

All that this was, was a wrestling villain acting like an ass and living up to what you'd expect from her character. Fancy that, a heel doing heelish things? Crazy concept, for sure.

So much outrage did Evans' antics cause, the military veteran had to issue a public apology as she explained that this was all just her being in-character, that the Canadian lawman was in on the whole thing, and that she meant no offence to Canada, to Canadians, and to the Canadian police department for who she has such big respect for.

And people wonder why it's nearly impossible to be a true heel in the landscape of the wrestling business in 2019...
