8 WWE WrestleMania 37 - Night 2 Impulse Reactions

2. Big E (c) Vs. Apollo Crews

Tagging a match as a "Nigerian Drum Fight" didn't half trivialise the angry energy Big E and Apollo Crews were trying to summon in their Fastlane scrap, but starting it with a brutal Kendo Stick battle went some way to finding it.

Perhaps best not examine such details, considering this was something like Crews' 48th shot at the belt since December and how hard they both worked here.

After a run of two strong in-ring clashes, this relied on the impressive risks the pair were willing to take for the good of the cause. Big E took a terrifying death valley driver on the apron, but recovered to nail Crews with a uranage onto steel steps on the floor from the apron. Brutal stuff, but nothing we weren't told to expect in a drum fight.

What was a surprise was the re-appearance of Dabba-Kato, who planted E with a giant chokeslam to gift the Challenger an easy win. They'll get time to get over now they've got a belt between them, and this will hopefully be an upward loss for the New Day man as post-WrestleMania pushes are doled out.
