9 Best Wrestling Lone Wolves Ever

6. Diamond Dallas Page

We can never be truly sure whether it was the intention or not, but one of the great successes of the New World Order storyline in WCW was the organically-built super-popularity of veteran wrestler Diamond Dallas Page. Until this point DDP was just another guy on the roster, albeit one with a great finishing move. The nWo changed this.

DDP was the first to truly stand up to be counted against the invaders, and he did so entirely alone. In a weird, roundabout way DDP became the perfect combination of The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin; he was an anti-hero who didn't trust anybody but was unquestionably the People's Champ.

DDP also had the privilege of following the route many real-life lone wolves take in eventually becoming a stalker, although stalking the wife of The Undertaker probably wasn't his best idea.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
