9 Match Star Ratings For WWE WrestleMania 36 (Night Two)

7. Aleister Black Vs. Bobby Lashley

Bobby Lashley wore long tights! He's never done that before! He looked pretty good.

That's the only real moment that seared itself into the memory. They worked hard. Everybody did. Even King Corbin, who worked a mid King Corbin match, took a brutal guitar shot over the back. This short, near-meaningless match was worked snugly, and thus proved engaging enough without threatening to blow anybody away. In that sense, it was perfectly serviceable undercard fare for this - and indeed any other - pay-per-view. Aleister Black took a wicked bump off an overhead suplex, and that he had to risk the moonsault again tacitly put Lashley over, maybe.

The finish f*cked them both, in what was a bizarre, TV-adjacent theme over WrestleMania Weekend. Lashley appeared to have the match won, or at least, victory was in sight. And then Lana, vaunted pro wrestling mind, advised him to opt for the Spear, which of course is - and was - easily countered by the Black Mass. Somebody won, nobody got over.

They manage to do this with astonishing frequency.

Star Rating: ★★½
