4. The Street Profits Vs. Angel Garza & Austin Theory - RAW Tag Team Championship Match

This was a RAW match at WrestleMania - the sort of match that doesn't exactly invite analysis of any depth. It existed, it wasn't at all terrible, and Montez Ford thankfully didn't nearly break his back. And, as with every last minute of action over the weekend, even if it was difficult to watch in the intended spirit and it obviously could have been better, the performers involve deserve respect for doing this without adrenaline to relieve them of their pain.

All that said, there was a dumb as hell moment in this one that almost ruined that goodwill.

Montez Ford took out his own partner with a dive to the outside. This wasn't a last resort. This did not save his team from certain defeat, or his partner from more serious harm. It was just a spot performed for no pop. It wasn't even a hollow, silly thrill because nobody was thrilled by it.

Angel Garza looked really good here in what otherwise was fairly exciting stuff, so there's that, but the post-match celebration just looked odd. There were no fans to celebrate in front of. This laced the whole thing with that inescapable, alienating irony. This wasn't WrestleMania.

This wasn't even Stomping Grounds!

Star Rating: ★★½
