9 Most Disappointing Wrestling Dream Matches

7. Hulk Hogan Vs. Ric Flair

Lesnar Goldberg WrestleMania XX
WWE

Technically, the dream Hulk Hogan versus Ric Flair match never happened, Vince McMahon having bizarrely favoured seeing his franchise player take on Sycho Sid in WrestleMania VIII's main event.

It did, however, feature at the odd house show in early 1992, making it perhaps the only example of a dream bout never broadcast to a television audience (and, honestly, what could be more disappointing than that?)

It is thought that the audience's persistently lukewarm reaction to seeing Hogan and Flair lock horns was ultimately what put paid to hopes of seeing the industry's two biggest stars go at it on the Grandest Stage of Them All.

In the circumstances, you can appreciate if not fully understand why WWE ditched their original plans, although - given what a money-spinner this match was for WCW a couple of years later - they perhaps could have turned one of them (most likely Flair) onto the dark side in order to make it work.
