More so than in recent years, World Wrestling Entertainment turned its attention to, and focused on, its many beautiful and dominant Divas in 2014. AJ Lee became the longest-reigning Divas champion in company history. Paige made a huge splash upon her debut, dethroning WWE's resident Black Widow and becoming a legitimate breakout star. Alicia Fox enjoyed some of the greatest exposure of her lengthy WWE career by adopting, and embracing, her inner crazy. Natalya was the centerpiece of husband Tyson Kidd's main event push in NXT and her match with Charlotte for that brand's Women's Championship was one of the best Divas matches of the last decade. Speaking of NXT and its current champion, Charlotte, she proved experts and analysts correct in their assessment of her as the future of women's wrestling in North America. Both she and Sasha Banks were responsible for some fierce, hard-hitting action in NXT while Bayley continued to endear herself to audiences, thanks to her lovable nature. Newcomers Becky Lynch and Carmella appear poised to make 2015 a year of growth, development and evolution. Whether they regularly appeared on Raw and SmackDown or cut their teeth on NXT, the women of WWE enjoyed and fruitful and prosperous 2014 and hope to continue building on the momentum as the new year approaches.
