9 NXT Stars That Would Make A Huge Impact On WWE's Main Roster

2. Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn is one of the guys that made NXT what it is today. His character is so much fun to get behind, and sticking with him from his rivalry with Cesaro to the moment he captured the NXT Championship was very rewarding. Zayn was like NXT€™s answer to Daniel Bryan in 2014, spending months trying and failing to get to that top spot, only for the incredibly emotional crowning moment to come, making the whole journey worthwhile. Zayn has been teased as an answer to John Cena€™s US open challenge, but it doesn't really count as an official debut because it seemed like it was mainly to build hype for Zayn€™s upcoming match at NXT Takeover: Unstoppable, and because he unfortunately aggravated a shoulder injury during the match and has been out of action since shortly thereafter. Members of the WWE Universe far and wide could easily fall in love with Zayn, provided he sticks to the hard-working babyface character that we€™re accustomed to. A continuation of his rivalry with Kevin Owens would be to die for, especially if they were lucky enough to ditch the mid-card title and break the new era in with a rivalry for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. There are some huge names at the top of the roster, but this rivalry has the emotion and the history to draw crowds and main-event PPVs. Similar treatment to Daniel Bryan could give Sami Zayn a big payoff, scratching and clawing his way to success before finally reaching it and capturing the WWE World Title at a big-time event. NXT is there to groom the legends of tomorrow, so while the idea of Zayn winning the big one in the main event of an event like WrestleMania may seem like a pipe dream right now, stranger things have happened. Talk about a WrestleMania moment!
