9 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Zack Sabre Jr.
5. The United States Was Never The Dream
Sabre is unusual in modern professional wrestling, as he has admitted on a number of occasions that wrestling full-time in the United States of America has never been the goal for him. Sabre has worked for a number of US promotions (and will of course be competing in the WWE Global Cruiserweight Series this summer), but never full time.
It was Japan that called loudest to the young Sabre, and he has gone on record as saying his dream was always to be able to wrestle full-time in the Land of the Rising Sun. His first full tour with Pro Wrestling Noah was in 2011, and he would stay with that company until leaving in November 2015.
His departure has coincided with his star well and truly taking off, and less than six months after leaving Noah he defeated Roderick Strong to win the PWG World Championship.
