9 Ups & 1 Down From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Sept 25)

1. Cancel Miz TV

R-Truth's endearing value as an entertainer often goes unmentioned. His shtick isn't to everyone's liking, but he understands his role perfectly, and that he's been able to come out of another months-long TV sabbatical as one of WWE's most charming peripheral characters speaks volumes.

The 46-year-old opened last night's show with Carmella and her new hair colour, welcoming viewers to the first episode of Truth TV. Daniel Bryan was their guest, and the content was positively Rybackian, with the dumb-as-f*ck host pausing for dance breaks, busting out the reading glasses, and confusing 'Mella with Maryse, causing the former General Manager to corpse with laughter several times along the way.

The Miz's arrival almost brought the big, dumb fun to an end, and yielded his singles match with Truth, as the incredulous 'A-Lister' rose to his former partner's challenge to put his talk show slot on the line (but not before another dance break).

If R-Truth boils your piss, then this segment almost certainly did just that, but it was a lively, light-hearted way to start SmackDown, and a welcome back from the usual show-opener. Let's just hope it isn't the end of Truth in a featured supporting role, because the guy's magic.
