9 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SummerSlam 2024 (Results & Review)

1. That Unnecessary Pre-Main Skit

Credit to Austin Theory for taking bumps like Jellyroll was The Undertaker. Hopefully, WWE recognises what they've got with Theory and pulls the trigger on his teased babyface turn soon. What's the alternative? Him working cameos next to Grayson Waller forever because they've got nothing else to do on PLEs?

The Miz and R-Truth working a bit with A-Town Down Under wasn't needed. Sorry, it wasn't. Sure, WWE wanted to tout the live gate and get Jellyroll involved again, but the segment came far too deep into an already-long show to work. By that point, people just wanted to see the main event and Roman Reigns returning.

Instead, they got a flown-in musician guest hitting moves.

The fact this is in the top 'Down' spot says everything about SummerSlam 2024 though. It was a 'let-me-up' skit, not an abomination, but 100% could've been deleted from the format sheets without anybody blinking. Hey, maybe Jellyroll is about to become Bad Bunny and work a match!
