9 Ups And 5 Downs From WWE Raw Reunion
4. Lighting A Fire
Natalya is an interesting case study as a character. She’s a third-generation wrestler with a famous family name who is a constant reminder of an enduring, popular legend in Bret Hart. She’s an accomplished wrestler and a beautiful woman on top of all of that.
And yet, fans have a hard time rallying around Nattie. The most engaged and attached that fans were to her in recent years was after her father’s unfortunate death last year. But that connection didn’t last, as she faded to the background again shortly thereafter.
But in her two weeks of feuding with Becky Lynch, Natalya has stood toe-to-toe with the Raw Women’s Champion and jawed and brawled with her. She looks invigorated to some extent, and knowing that she’s more than capable of delivering a really good match, fans like this writer are looking forward to their SummerSlam title bout.
No one is expecting Nattie to end The Man’s reign, but it’s good to see her fired up for this match, which could be a show-stealer and help get the women’s division back on track after having to suffer through Lacey Evans: Title Contender, for the past couple months.
