9 Worst Abuses Of Creative Control In Wrestling
5. John Cena At SummerSlam 2010
According to Wade Barrett, he and the rest of Nexus were so miffed about the planned finish of their SummerSlam 2010 main event that they marched straight to Vince McMahon's office for an explanation.
If they had got an audience with the chairman, what they probably would have heard is that John Cena himself had personally lobbied for the ending, which saw the WWE veteran come back from a DDT onto the exposed concrete to beat the final two rookies from the opposing side.
While there is no indication that Cena was responsible for them losing the match altogether (or the subsequent derailing of their push), the closing sequence he came up with was poorly conceived, and did no favours for anyone involved - least of all Barrett.
