9 Worst Abuses Of Creative Control In Wrestling
3. Hulk Hogan Refusing To Put Over Bret Hart
Legend has it that Vince McMahon and his franchise player agreed to a quid pro quo at the beginning of 1993.
Hogan, approaching the end of his WWE career, would be given one last moment in the sun at WrestleMania IX - where he defeated Yokozuna for the title in the go-home match - on the condition that he did his boss a favour by putting over his successor Bret Hart down the line at SummerSlam.
But Hogan had other ideas, having apparently grown resentful of the 'Hitman' for his alleged willingness to work for a smaller cut of the pay-per-view pie (which, you know, could have had big implications for some of his contemporaries, the 'Hulkster' included).
Having failed to reach a compromise, Hogan dropped the belt back to Yoko at King of the Ring instead, and Bret - fittingly - faced Doink the Clown at the 'Biggest Party of the Summer'.
