9 WWE SmackDown Angles That Should Follow Money In The Bank 2017
1. Keep Styles & Nakamura Apart Until WrestleMania
If Money in the Bank proved anything it's that the WWE audience is absolutely restless for the inevitable showdown between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura. Thus far the two have been portrayed as friends who worked together in Japan, but their true value lies in a rivalry rather than an alliance.
WWE has a tendency to rush programs to pop a number, and with the ratings of both Raw and SmackDown free-falling at an alarming rate while the company has hemorrhaged twenty percent of their viewers, who can blame them?
This is one occasion where patience must be exercised.
The potential for another classic between 'The Phenomenal One' and 'The Artist' is there and every seasoned fan is well aware. Make us long for it to the point that we're practically frothing at the mouth. Continue to tease the unavoidable collision with a face-off from time to time but don't pull the trigger until at least WrestleMania 34.
If WWE creative wastes this match on a random B-show pay-per-view, or even worse an episode of SmackDown, they'll be flushing money down the toilet. Those of us who have seen what the two are capable of when paired against each other will begrudgingly bask in the lengthy build-up, while the majority of WWE viewers who have no idea what they're in for will grow thirsty with anticipation.
This match deserves a big fight feel and all the pomp and circumstance that comes along with it. Please don't throw that away.
