Orange Cassidy has moved into a backstage position with AEW, reports Fightful Select.

The reigning AEW International Champion is now combining his onscreen role with work as a producer/agent for the Tony Khan-helmed promotion. Recently, Orange has been responsible for producing a clash pitting Big Bill and Brian Cage against Matt Sydal and Trent, as well as an ROH bout between The Infantry and The Kingdom.

Fightful notes that AEW's producers and agents play a key role during the matches themselves. Such figures sit on headsets, relaying directions to ringside, and ensuring the matches stick to time. They also go over the bouts with the wrestlers in advance - and forward any important sports to the production team should they need to know.

Cassidy is currently in the midst of one of the most prolific title reigns in AEW history. International Champion for 285 days, he has mounted 27 successful defences thus far, with his most recent being against Lance Archer on 15 July.

The 39-year-old has been with AEW since its first year of operation, 2019, become a huge fan favourite and regular quarter-hour ratings booster.
