AEW Full Gear 2021: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

3. Miro Subs In And Wins

Right, time to p*ss off some folks.

Eric Bischoff was right when he suggested that AEW needs to stop mucking around with guys like Bryan Danielson and CM Punk. They need big moments yesterday, because they're both major, game-changing stars. At Full Gear, that means Danielson has to win the Eliminator tourney.

What's the alternative? That Miro substitutes in for Jon Moxley and shocks everyone by upending Bryan? Though some argue on Twitter that the Bulgarian deserves opportunities himself (they're right, and he'll get them), let's be honest here: Danielson as number one contender is bigger.

Say Miro does win the Eliminator to get a future World Title shot. He'd either go up against Kenny Omega, which is unlikely, or be Hangman Page's first heel stopgap challenger. Neither role seems fitting for him. Meanwhile, as the top contender, Bryan could believably sit on a title shot for a while before AEW pulls the trigger.
