AEW Full Gear 2022: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

2. The Elite Cuts A Returning Shoot Promo

Or, maybe Khan will reason that The Elite should roar back into view and cost MJF his chance to become World Champ. Imagine the scenes if Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks wrecked Full Gear's main event, caused a non-finish that'd get p*ssed on by all and sundry, and closed the pay-per-view with a shoot-style promo.

'Hey, Tony! F*ck you and f*ck your company. AEW sucks!'.

Those words would be so counterproductive to everything this promotion stands for. It's supposed to be a proud reminder that self-belief and the intoxicating blend of simple storytelling/stellar pro wrestling can enthral viewers. Going the shoot promo route with The Elite just sounds lazy.

It'd be another worrying sign that AEW is echoing the mistakes of WCW by trying to be cool and edgy for the sake of it, and it'd stomp all over something All Elite apologists hold dear: DEFINITIVE MATCH RESULTS THAT SATISFY.

If The Elite plans to return soon, then...keep that moment for Dynamite.
