AEW Star Compares His Role To The Undertaker's In WWE

A top AEW wrestler has just offered himself up as Tony Khan's very own 'Taker.

Chris Jericho has compared the role he has behind the scenes in AEW to that of The Undertaker towards the end of the legend's WWE active career.

Jericho told Pop Culture that he'd never compare himself to 'Taker as a performer, but he does hold a similar amount of respect amongst All Elite's younger wrestlers that the icon did/does in WWE. That's a role he relishes, especially when he's able to help a rising star up the ladder towards the main event picture or World Title success.

This is also something that AEW boss Tony Khan appreciates - Khan took a chance on an awful lot of young workers right at the start of the company's run, and he likely enjoys having somebody as experienced as Jericho to guide them in the right direction creatively.

Jericho is mindful that everything he does must be "impactful" and "mean something". He identified early on in his WWE career that 'Taker looked after his character that way on screen, and that's what Chris is trying to emulate in AEW.

Being a locker room leader is something he takes pride in.
