While it remains to be seen what, if any, role John Cena will have to play at WWE WrestleMania XL, one person who's clearly a fan of Big Match John's is Kenny Omega.

Speaking during a Twitch stream (via Fightful), the AEW EVP had plentiful praise for Cena both for his wrestling career and for some of the fantastic work he's done outside of the ring over the years.

As Omega enthused:

"No, I have not [met John Cena], but I think he's great. Great professional wrestler. He's done an incredible amount for the business [that] I don't think anyone will be able to match anytime soon. The reason why, is because Cena wasn't doing anything for the sake of an accomplishment or trophy or recognition. People went out of their way after that fact to say, 'Look at all this stuff John is doing in his off time'. Maybe he even laughs at it himself, but for the amount of effort he has put in to make people's lives better, whether be Make-A-Wish, fans at the arenas, or autograph signings, it's a great example for what the face of a company should be or for the face of the industry. I'm a very big proponent of John Cena, I think he's incredible."

As alluded to by Kenny Omega there, John Cena has granted the most wishes in the 44-year history of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Currently, the 16-time World Champion has granted over 650 wishes, which is absolutely amazing work.

Whether you're a fan of him as a wrestler or not, it's impossible not to appreciate John Cena the person. Putting crazy wrestling tribalism and fandom to one side, Cena is simply a good dude.

As for Cena the wrestler, he was last in action at WWE Crown Jewel in November, where he lost to the Bloodline's Solo Sikoa. Where WrestleMania XL is concerned, the 46-year-old has hinted that he may well be a part of this year's Showcase of the Immortals in some form or fashion, but as of now, a 'Mania appearance is far from confirmed.

Having been out of action since December due to a diverticulitis diagnosis, the latest word on Kenny Omega is that he should find out this month whether or not he'll require surgery or whether this issue can be resolved without going under the knife.
