All Elite Wrestling's Kenny Omega has claimed that he is working through a shoulder injury because he "can't afford" to take time off.

'The Best Bout Machine' said this during a recent interview with Wrestling Observer Radio's Dave Meltzer and Garrett Gonzales, saying that he won't enter his 2nd clash with AEW World Champion at full capacity.

"A torn labrum is no laughing matter," Omega said. "That's a surgery, but I have a very talented and unbelievable trainer, and our doctors, of course, are always monitoring and making sure we're going okay."

Kenny called AEW's Head Athletic Trainer Bryce Ready a "next level kind of guy," crediting him for ensuring he's always in good enough condition to perform. "As long I make sure that I see him two or three times a week, I can lift, I have full range of motion," said Omega. "I just need to make sure that I can look after it and avoid having surgery. I can't avoid that time off. If things get worse, that's an option I'll have to consider."

Omega won AEW's World Title Eliminator tournament to claim his shot at Moxley, having previously sat out for six weeks after he and Hangman Page dropped the World Tag Team Titles to FTR at All Out 2020 in September.
