All 10 WWE PPVs John Cena Has Missed In The Last Decade

3. Night Of Champions 2013

From 2008 to 2013, John Cena suffered a wide range of injuries, but nothing was serious enough to sideline him from action for a substantial period of time. By August 2013, it was apparent he would be forced to take time off to undergo elbow surgery, making WWE TV Cena-free for the first time in five years. Prior to his temporary departure, he passed the torch (and WWE Championship) to Daniel Bryan in an epic encounter at SummerSlam 2013. Thus, fans were optimistic that Cena leaving for a few months would mean Bryan would become the top babyface on the roster by default. Bryan vs. Randy Orton for the title at Night of Champions had the potential to be special, but the entire event fell flat. From a disappointing Alberto Del Rio vs. Rob Van Dam match to Ryback becoming a Paul Heyman Guy, there was hardly anything exciting about the show, making it one of the most dreadfully boring pay-per-views in recent memory.
