All 12 WWE NXT Women's Champions Ranked Worst To Best

6. Io Shirai

Charlotte Flair NXT Title

If Raquel Gonzalez deserves credit for her success as champion during the Covid-19 pandemic, Io Shirai deserves just as much, if not more. With Rhea Ripley as the NXT Women's Champion, the title received a heavy focus with Charlotte Flair challenging and winning the title at WrestleMania 36. Many eyes were taken off the title when Shirai won the championship by pinning Rhea Ripley in a triple threat with Charlotte Flair.

Despite that, The Genius of the Sky had a stellar ten-month reign as champion of NXT, putting on a long list of classic matches while defending her title. Io would retain her title against Dakota Kai, Candice LeRae, Mercedes Martinez, Toni Storm and Rhea Ripley. As great as her time as champion was, it is truly unfortunate that every match she had for the title was held in front of no fans, with the exception being the Capitol Wrestling Center's virtual audience.

After 304 days on top of the women's division, Io Shirai would lose her NXT Women's Championship to Raquel Gonzalez at Takeover: Stand & Deliver.
