2. WrestleMania 31

To this date, it’s tough to top the first encounter between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, which was a distant three-plus years ago. (And while this ranks #2, the one above it had other participants throughout the entire match.)

Roman won a contentious Royal Rumble to earn his world title shot at 'Mania, then engaged in a two-month build that was lackluster at best. Fans turned on Roman from the Rumble on, and things didn’t get better throughout the road to WrestleMania.

At WM 31, Brock beat Roman silly with German suplexes, but Reigns kept coming. In some strange, perverse way, Roman was starting to win over some fans by staying in the match, taking everything Lesnar dished out and still fighting as the challenger.

But then, Seth Rollins emerged and cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase, pinning Reigns and winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. That ending alone made this match memorable and even more remarkable, but as a Brock/Roman match, it was pretty good.

However, future pairings (matches that were just between the two men) have regressed to the point where it’s just F-5s, German suplexes, spears and Superman punches.
