All WWE Horror Movies Ranked Worst To... Less Bad
4. Escape The Undertaker
From a straight horror perspective, Escape the Undertaker might've ranked lower on this list. As previously mentioned, the interactive Netflix special leans into camp rather than traditional scares, relying on some delightfully goofy performances by New Day to sell the family-friendly nature of the tale.
This is where Escape the Undertaker earns a spot above the previous films. Most of WWE Studios' horror films not only provide few real scares, most of them also feature great premises that they never quite live up to. Escape the Undertaker knows what it is, and mostly delivers on it. Only two failures really stand out.
First, Escape the Undertaker offers little in the way of interactivity. Few of your choices affect the actual story, merely splitting New Day into separate side quests and choosing which of the protagonists you'd like to follow.
Second, while Escape the Undertaker features a few decent nods to WWE history, these mostly center around some hilariously camp footage of Paul Bearer. Aside from this, the most notable Easter egg is a single reference to Isaac Yankem, a character portrayed by Glenn Jacobs prior to his rebranding as Undertaker's nemesis Kane.
It's a cute nod, but the lack of any real Kane presence feels like a huge missed opportunity.
