Asuka is injured.

The former SmackDown Women's Champion was pulled from a scheduled match with Shayna Baszler on last night's Raw and replaced by her fellow Kabuki Warrior, Kairi Sane, who was felled by 'The Queen of Spades' in a shade under 13 minutes.

Per the Wrestling Observer, Asuka's injury isn't a work. She appeared in a couple of backstage segments last night but the wrist issue is legit, though the good news is that she should be good to go by Elimination Chamber 2020 this Sunday night.

Asuka is set to wrestle Baszler, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan, Ruby Riott, and Natalya inside the titular structure. There's an opportunity to face Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 36 on the line and while it'd be a huge shock if anyone but Shayna took the bout, Asuka has been tremendous in the build-up.

'The Empress Of Tomorrow' has had two title shots in 2020 already, losing to Lynch at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view then again on Raw two weeks later. Meanwhile, her and Sane haven't defended the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships since 15 December 2019, when they defeated Becky and Charlotte Flair.
