With AEW due to launch its weekly Collision show on Saturday 17 June, there's now news on the company's back-up plan for the premiere episode of this new offering.

As it stands, AEW have booked Chicago's United Centre for Collision's debut, with the return of CM Punk being pivotal to that.

Of course, the nailed-on return for Punk is now not quite as nailed-on as it once was, as the Second City Saint and AEW management butt heads over Ace Steel. For Punk, he was expecting his long-time pal to be brought back as an on-site producer for Collision, whilst AEW instead wants Steel to fulfil that role remotely.

Despite Tony Khan having now announced the location of four of the first five episodes of Collision, he's yet to formally announce the location of Collision's premiere. Should Punk's impending return not happen at that premiere, AEW does already have a back-up location lined up. After all, running the United Center without CM Punk has the potential to cause all kinds of issues.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio (via WrestlingNews.co), Dave Meltzer noted how AEW are working on booking Daily's Place as a back-up plan. That Jacksonville, Florida venue has played a pivotal part in AEW's history, not least in how it was the home of the promotion during the dark days of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The priority for AEW right now is to run the United Center with CM Punk for AEW Collision's first outing, but Daily's Place will be the fall-back option should the Chicago native's return not happen.
