Paul Heyman is the man behind much of Roman Reigns' current creative direction in WWE.

This is according to a new report from Fightful Select stating that the former ECW head honcho has considerable influence over his new charge's onscreen presentation, having recently aligned with 'The Big Dog' on SmackDown.

The situation is said to be similar to Heyman's previous roles with Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, and Ronda Rousey. Heyman had a hand in booking all three when they were still on television, hence why they felt different to everyone else in WWE's televised universe.

It is also stated that Heyman helped come up with the finish for Reigns' big Universal Title win at Payback 2020, where Roman entered a bout between Braun Strowman and 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt late, not signing the match contract until the last second. Paul also penned part of last week's SmackDown promo in which Reigns explained his recent actions.

Heyman aligned with Reigns on the SmackDown prior to Payback. This came just five days after 'The Big Dog' had returned and turned heel at SummerSlam 2020, and two days before his big Universal Title victory.
