Best (And Worst) Of NXT 2016

13. Worst Debut: Dan Matha

Vignettes aren't NXT's strong point. Andrade Almas' hype videos made him look like a sympathetic face, reliving the days where he was a luchador, maybe now struggling without a mask. What we got instead was a luchador babyface that had all the confidence in the world - and some of the worst in ring gear I've seen in a long time. But one debut trumped them all this year as being completely forgettable and truly terrible.

And that is Dan Matha.

You might be asking, "Who is Dan Matha?" Well, Dan Matha had hype videos for weeks, showing him as this big muscle, body builder type of athlete. And then we saw him, back acne and all, get destroyed by Samoa Joe in what was a complete waste of a segment. Joe got some good heat, sure, but what were we supposed to get with Matha? Why hype him up just to watch him get taken out so quickly and without remorse?
