Best And Worst WWE Title Reigns Of 2017 (So Far)

Chad Gable and Jason Jordan rode an NXT hype-train to become the first tag team drafted by SmackDown Live back in 2016. While those familiar with their standout work in development believed they'd have no problem as the centrepiece of the division, the greater WWE Universe did not know what to think.

Their fan connection did not wholly translate onto the main roster, meaning they were easily surpassed by the thrown-together team of Heath Slater and Rhyno. Given a few months to settle, AA got their hands on the SD Tag Team Championships, but their reign, like their debut, failed to live up to the hype.

This is partly down to a weak division, evidenced by the Elimination Chamber gauntlet match where Jordan and Gable retained to little fanfare. Since then however, The Usos have manufactured a dime of a heel turn and taken the division by storm.

American Alpha's reign was a case of too much, too soon. The WWE Universe cannot simply be told to cheer these two NXT call-ups. I don't doubt that an Usos/AA rematch would be sublime, but let the rest of the audience get invested first before returning Jordan and Gable to the title picture.
