Brock Lesnar Vs. Drew McIntyre Confirmed For WWE WrestleMania 36
McIntyre challenges for the WWE Championship in Tampa.
As confirmed on last night's Raw, Royal Rumble winner Drew McIntyre will challenge for Brock Lesnar's WWE Championship at WrestleMania 36 on 5 April.
Drew announced that he'd be facing Lesnar, not Universal Champion Bray Wyatt, in a passionate opening segment that resonated strongly with the live crowd. He then issued an open challenge. Out came Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, with the former challenging the self-proclaimed 'Sexy Scotsman' to a singles contest, but McIntyre decided to take both on in a handicap match that lasted just two minutes.
McIntyre pinned Gallows and Anderson (they were crowned the "Best Tag Team in the World" a few months ago, remember) at the same time. This drew Lesnar out from the back, and a raging 'Best Incarnate' downed the Scot with an F5, held the gold up, and left McIntyre in agony.
An effective set-up angle for what should be a memorable WrestleMania feud. It'll be interesting to see how Brock fares working with a larger opponent too, as he has primarily competed - and excelled - against much smaller wrestlers during his last few years on top. Regardless, the storyline feels hot at the moment.
