Brock Lesnar's WWE SummerSlam Matches: Ranked From Worst To Best
1. CM Punk (2013)
Since CM Punk’s departure from WWE, this clash with Lesnar has gained more significance. It’s now very possible that this will be his final great WWE in-ring performance. Sure, he had other good matches after SummerSlam prior to him leaving, but this will be the one people remember for a long time.
It's almost perfect in more ways than one. The selling from Punk and Lesnar was top notch. The involvement from Paul Heyman was timely and added to the drama as opposed to cheapening it. The brutality from Lesnar was at times scary. The story of David vs. Goliath was perfectly realised, with Punk as the underdog giving his all to try and overcome the giant. Only this time, The Beast won, subverting expectations.
Lesnar reminded fans that when he wants to, he can wrestle classics and have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish, and can do so whilst still looking like the conquering destroyer. This was not only the best SummerSlam match of Lesnar’s career so far, it is one of the best SummerSlam matches period.
