Cesaro Debuts New Eyepatch... And Looks Meaner Than Ever!

Eye injury forces Cesaro to wear protective patch but does it actually improve his look?

twittertwitterCesaro is now wrestling while wearing an eyepatch, appearing on 'Main Event' with the striking new look. This is due to the eye injury he sustained against Kofi Kingston on Raw, the high flying Ghanian catching the Swissman on the actual eyeball. This led to a scratch on the right side of the surface of his left eye, which we can presume has forced the entire eye area to now close shut. For that reason and to protect from infection, Cesaro will probably wear the eyepatch for the next week or so, maybe even less time according to WWE's original assessment "We're going to keep his eye patched for the next 24-48 hours". However, maybe WWE should rethink having the patch as a temporary measure. Social media has reacted in a big way to Cesaro's new look, noting that it made him appear even meaner and cooler. It stands him out, which is what all WWE characters need. If he was to keep the eyepatch and tell a story of how he 'lost his eye in the field of battle' it would be another unique selling point for him. The problem is perhaps that the patch is genuinely impairing his vision, but WWE could get around that by just making a see through mesh. The eyepatch has came about by coincidence, but WWE might just have stumbled upon a bold new look for one of their characters. It didn't however bring Cesaro much luck. The 'Main Event' match was a six man pitting Dolph Ziggler, Big E and Rob Van Dam against Cesaro and RybAxel. It ended up being Cesaro who got pinned, following a Zig Zag from Ziggler.
