CM Punk/AEW Latest: Tony Khan Clash, Jack Perry Fight, Suspension & More!
Report: CM Punk NOT Directly Informed Of AEW Suspension
Haus of Wrestling has confirmed talk that AEW did not contact CM Punk directly about his suspension from the promotion.
Fightful Select stated that at the time of the suspension story dropping, Punk "at least has not been informed of a suspension." Haus of Wrestling has confirmed that although nobody from AEW spoke to Punk directly about the situation, the 44-year-old's lawyer did inform the former World Champion of the situation prior to Sports Illustrated's story breaking.
Haus of Wrestling had previously reported that there had been no further communication between Punk and AEW chief Tony Khan following the events of All In. At the time of the outlet's latest report, this appeared to still be the case. HoW's Nick Hausman states that Punk's status for this week's AEW shows "appears to be very much up in the air."
AEW's All Out 2023 Plans For CM Punk SCRAPPED?
Regarding this Sunday's All Out pay-per-view, PWInsider's Mike Johnson reports that AEW's original plans for the event involved CM Punk wrestling.
This would seemingly depend on the 44-year-old's suspension being lifted prior to the event, which, in turn, may hinge on the investigation's completion.
Current rival Ricky Starks and All In opponent Samoa Joe would stand as Punk's most obvious opponents in his Chicago, IL hometown, though there is no definitive word on who he would have faced.
