2012 was a time when Daniel Bryan was a heel and CM Punk was the babyface. CM Punk successfully defended his WWE Title against Chris Jericho in multiple matches, so Daniel Bryan stepped up to be the new challenger. At the time, Daniel Bryan was going out with AJ Lee and a love triangle ensued. The storyline kind of lost focus since AJ Lee was given more attention than the WWE Title itself. Despite this, we got some excellent matches from CM Punk's brief feud with Daniel Bryan. Technical wrestling started to dwindle since Kurt Angle left WWE in 2006. After that, Chris Benoit killed himself and his family in 2007 and there weren't many other guys in WWE that could be labelled as "technical wrestlers". With the addition of Daniel Bryan however, he brought his ROH style of wrestling to the WWE and made technical wrestling cool again. Both CM Punk and Daniel Bryan came from ROH and put out an excellent technical display on show at Over the Limit 2012. The only bad thing about the match is that it wasn't in the main event spot. WWE made the stupid decision for John Cena vs. John Laurinaitis to close out the show...
