Cody Rhodes Next WWE Title Challenger Revealed
WWE lined up a fresh challenger for Cody Rhodes on this week's SmackDown.
Logan Paul will challenge Cody Rhodes for the WWE Title at King & Queen Of The Ring over in Saudi Arabia on 25 May. SmackDown GM Nick Aldis installed Paul as Cody's latest opponent on Friday's episode, then Logan and Cody battled on the mic.
Interestingly, WWE is calling this a "Champion vs. Champion" clash, so it looks like there's a chance LP's United States Title will be on the line too. Rhodes did say winning that belt would make him a Grand Slam Champ, so it'd make sense to have both belts up for grabs on the PLE.
That'll likely be made official soon.
Paul represents the latest stopgap challenger for Cody. After winning the title from Roman Reigns in a blistering WrestleMania 40 main event, Rhodes went on to vanquish AJ Styles at Backlash over in France. Now, his attention turns to Paul.
The match will be good when it happens, but some fans on social media are already grumbling that Cody's title run is off to a so-so start. Meanwhile, others believe Triple H is doing the right thing by keeping his heavyweight powder dry until SummerSlam season kicks off.
