Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa formally reunited as #DIY for the first time in a year, as several popular acts returned to NXT on a loaded 15th January edition of the show.

The creative team's knack for building multiple supercards was again put to the test on this week's edition of the black-and-gold brand, but it was one WWE's best show yet again passed with flying colours.

Gargano saved Ciampa from an Undisputed Era beatdown ahead of agreeing to a challenge from Moustache Mountain for January 25th's Worlds Collide NXT Vs NXT UK card, whilst Ciampa and Keith Lee engaged in separate scuffles with Adam Cole's gang ahead of Lee's North American Championship match with Roderick Strong on next week's show.

Elsewhere on the show, NXT's celebrated women's division flexed its diversity and depth with a main event battle royal that saw Bianca Belair become the number one contender to either Rhea Ripley or Toni Storm, pending the outcome of their Worlds Collide encounter. The match also featured the returns/debuts of Shayna Baszler, Tegan Nox, Kacy Catanzaro and Mercedes Martinez.

Advancements in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Classic 2020 were made by Pete Dunne and Matt Riddle's Broserweights team as well as NXT UK's Grizzled Young Veterans as they advanced over Mark Andrews & Flash Morgan and the returning Time Splitters respectively.
