ECW's The New Breed: Where Are They Now?
1. CM Punk
In The New Breed
As The New Breed’s shortest serving member (a fact that Punk is probably thankful for), CM Punk is also the faction’s most successful. After Burke, Striker and Cor Von spent weeks attempting to recruit the indie favourite and ECW newcomer to their group, Punk reluctantly joined after a stray kendo stick shot from Sandman almost cost him a match against Stevie Richards. Punk left the faction only two weeks later, turning on Elijah Burke and siding with the ECW Originals in the process.
After The New Breed
It’s impossible to sum up CM Punk’s accomplishments in such a short space, but the Straightedge Superstar’s WWE and post-WWE achievements far outweigh those of his former stablemates combined. Following The New Breed’s dissolution, Punk went on to win John Morrison’s ECW Championship, followed by four tag championship reigns, two Money in the Bank briefcases, two WWE title runs, three World Heavyweight Championships, and an Intercontinental Championship win, which earned him a spot as the 19th WWE Triple Crown winner.
Since leaving WWE, CM Punk has embarked upon a UFC career, losing his first match against Mickey Gall in 2016, and also writes comic books for Marvel.
