3. Chris Jericho Vs. Jon Moxley (Revolution 2020)
The redemption story for Jon Moxley was about more than being a company guy.
It was about ridding himself of the Dean Ambrose aura. The tedious monikers, the injections because lol, pro wrestling fans stink, the pissing Wacky Line; all of it had to go, but more so, Jon Moxley had to be reborn.
All of this was achieved by the time he and Chris Jericho ended their Revolution 2020 encounter.
Both were different. Jericho, traditionally viewed as a technical grappler, transitioned well into the walking and brawling style, but it was Moxley who surprised most, reversing a Liontamer into an Ankle Lock at one stage.
Because of the night's constant differing styles, this almost was forced to go the way it did, with the aforementioned brawling nature employed for the duration of the main event. It worked for the two as this story had been built on reckless behaviour from the Inner Circle towards Mox and vice versa; Jon had an eyepatch after having it stabbed with a spike from Jericho's jacket, for Christ's sake. When he ultimately removed the protection, the pop was as deafening as that when he lifted the title moments after.
It was as personal as personal could be, and by far, a suitable main event for the final big wrestling show before the world shut down.
