4. Jon Moxley Vs. MJF (All Out 2020)
All Out 2020 wasn't great.
Jon Moxley vs. MJF was, however.
It was a wonderful blend, as MJF worked the arm of Mox perfectly throughout to prepare for his Salt Of The Earth armbar, while the 'Death Rider' used more of a ground and pound style. He forearmed the piss out of MJF at various stages. That he forced MJF to adorn a crimson mask so early on was a superb touch that only MJF could master. He'd been transcendently cocky in the build to this match and even in the match that it created a great moment when he was doused in the red stuff.
The plethora of near falls were mostly warranted, too. It was a World Title match, after all, and there was a great story built. A single finisher shouldn't have been all that it took. Moxley kicking out of a Heatseeker, before countering a second attempt at the seesaw Piledriver into a Beach Break, was a grand touch made all the better when MJF resorted to a prior feud in hopes of getting the job done.
He hit the Double Cross, a rolling Cutter he'd stolen from Cody Rhodes.
The levels of MJF's adherence to story aspects are unmatched. That there was little to enjoy on this night makes this stand out far more, too.
