5. Kenny Omega Vs. Christian Cage (All Out 2021)
Followed by Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson's expected, yet superlative debuts, Kenny Omega vs. Christian Cage was a classic World Title match that's sadly been forgotten about.
It was as enjoyable as their initial match on the inaugural Rampage broadcast; a well-thought-out masterpiece of professional wrestling drama, raised in excellence by its spaced-out spots. Cage's jaw was rocked by a series of sickening V-Triggers - the execution in the above image somehow wasn't the match-ender, despite its genuine jaw-breaking potential - but he, too, had a marquee moment when Spearing Omega off the ring apron, onto a table below.
This was as amazing as it was gnarly.
Discourse on this match lends itself to go against enjoying the match. Christian Cage, you see, simply wasn't 'Hangman' Adam Page, the expected All Out challenger for the 'Best Mout Machine'. The match between Omega and Cage therefore couldn't be great.
Wrong.
It was great, albeit not as great as Omega vs. Page will inevitably be at Full Gear, but still, an enjoyable World Title clash that very much fit the billing of an All Out headliner. The insane top-rope One-Winged Angel finish was the final nail in the coffin to get the match over as a credible World Title match. It mattered; Omega isn't typically a guy who performs these inhumane spots just for the sake of it. It was justified.
