Chris Jericho AEW
AEW

Chris Jericho made history to be crowned the first-ever AEW World Champion. His victory over 'Hangman' Adam Page to win the company's world title was great, and his infamous victory speech, walking through the backstage area to find " a little bit of the bubbly", was somehow even better. This kick-started the best run Jericho had in the company as "Le Champion".

The Lucha Bros announced themselves to the wider world by putting on a classic with The Young Bucks, retaining the AAA Tag Team Championship in a thrilling ladder match for the ages. This was quickly followed by Santana & Ortiz making their AEW debut to attack the champs. Kenny Omega vs PAC was as excellent as expected too, with PAC getting the win by making Kenny pass out to The Brutalizer.

Cody Rhodes had MJF at ringside as he put on a clinic to beat Shawn Spears and avenge the gruesome chairshot he took at Fight The Fallen, and the AEW Women's division began to take shape with Nyla Rose eliminating Brit Baker last in the Casino Battle Royale. Rhio would later defeat Hikaru Shida to book a date with Nyla to crown the first-ever AEW Women's Champion.
