29. Double Or Nothing 2024
Double Or Nothing 2024 got off to a roaring start with Will Ospreay winning his first AEW championship by pinning Roderick Strong for the International Championship. This was quickly followed by The Bang Bang Gang seeing off the challenge of Death Triangle for their Unified Trios Championship. The night would blow hot and cold overall, but the great matches were really noteworthy.
Willow Nightingale and Mercedes Mone have excellent in-ring chemistry, and their match for the TNT Championship was the best of the entire night. Nightingale gave the CEO the fight of her life, but was unable to stop Mone from earning the victory and gaining her biggest prize since arriving in AEW. Adam Copeland defeated Malakai Black in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage match for the TNT Championship that included a bizarre spot from Cope's former Brood teammate, Gangrel.
As has been the case at Double Or Nothing since the match's inception, the Anarchy In The Arena between Team AEW and The Elite absolutely ruled. Darby Allin's flamethrower spot, in which he set Jack Perry ablaze, was as ridiculous as anything in the match's history, but the night had a strangely flat ending with the heel Elite team winning via Jack Perry pinning Bryan Danielson.
